NEW PROGRAM-----CENTERING PRAYER
On every Monday evening moving forward, those who wish to participate in centering prayer in community will gather at 6:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. In a circle, we will engage in centering prayer until 6:20 p.m., when the closing will be signified by the ringing of a chime.
We will enter in silence to begin each session. Those who enter a bit late may simply join the circle quietly as they arrive. There are brochures in the narthex that provide more background on this spiritual practice. As well, any of the current facilitators will be happy to answer any questions you may have, and will be available at least 10 minutes before each centering prayer session begins at 6:00 p.m.
KIDS' CAFÉ
As you may know, St. Anne's Outreach Committee is part of a Joint Outreach Committee which consists of representatives from St. Paul's, St. Timothy's and St. Stephen's. At its May meeting, Mike Bradshaw of St. Paul's discussed a project which needs volunteer help. Parkway Kids' Café is a partnership of Parkway United Church of Christ, St. Paul's Episcopal Church, and The Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina. They offer school age children of low- income families a hot meal and tutoring through the year. They are in need of volunteers beginning in the Fall, especially on Thursdays to help serve a meal and help them with their homework. They need 5 to 6 people from 5:00P to 6:45P. If you are able to help, please contact Beverly Gosnell by e:mail: bgosnell@hotmail.com.
